Kinesiology

Kinesiologists are certified professionals who practice the study of bodily movements. Kinesiologists are adept at managing current injuries as well as helping prevent future ones through correction of your bodily movements and exercises.

Our Process

After an initial assessment, our Kinesiologists prescribe various stretches and exercises tailored to your injuries and/or needs. Over your following visits and as your condition improves, your program will be adapted to meet your specific needs.

Our Kinesiologists will properly educate you regarding your needs, from various pain management strategies to strengthen specific muscles to increasing mobility and endurance.

The exercises prescribed to you will be given using a tool called Physiotec. Through Physiotec you will have access to videos of prescribed exercises, as well as the ability to track and leave notes when performing the workouts.

Kinesiology,
a fundamental aspect of
ICBC treatment

Utilizes targeted movement-based therapies, tailored exercises, and biomechanical assessments to aid accident victims in their rehabilitation journey. These specialized treatments aim to restore mobility, alleviate pain, and promote a speedy recovery, ensuring the optimal physical function and well-being of the injured individuals

  • Therapeutic Exercises: Targeted exercises designed to improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion, helping accident victims regain functional abilities.

  • Manual Therapy: Hands-on techniques, such as massage and joint mobilization, to reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and enhance tissue healing.

  • Postural Correction: Addressing posture imbalances to alleviate strain on affected body areas and prevent future complications.

  • Balance and Coordination Training: Specific exercises to enhance balance and coordination, crucial for those recovering from musculoskeletal injuries.

  • Gait Training: Assistance in relearning proper walking patterns and movements for individuals with gait abnormalities due to accidents.

  • Pain Management: Utilizing kinesiology principles to manage pain through various modalities, such as heat therapy, ice therapy, or electrical stimulation.

  • Functional Movement Analysis: Assessing movement patterns and identifying areas of weakness or dysfunction to develop targeted treatment plans.

  • Injury Prevention Education: Educating accident victims on injury prevention techniques and exercises to reduce the risk of future incidents.

  • Proprioceptive Training: Enhancing proprioception (awareness of body position) to improve motor control and prevent re-injury.
